Fire TV: Amazon introduces hearing aid support for second-generation Fire TV Cube – Times of India

Amazon has introduced a new accessibility feature for itself fire tv Device. The company has launched audio streaming support for hearing aids, also known as Asha, on the second generation fire tv cube for bluetooth compatible hearing aids from Starkey. The company claims that this makes the second-generation Fire TV Cube the first device to support this feature.
The company has also revealed that the improvement in sound quality was one of the most requested features among hearing aid users. Here’s everything you need to know about the new audio streaming for hearing aids.
Customers with a compatible Starkey hearing aid can connect directly to the Fire TV Cube for private listening with audio delivered directly to the hearing aid.

  • The hearing aids connect to the Fire TV at the system level, allowing users to enjoy their favorite streaming services, apps, and games, as well as private audio from Alexa.
  • Users can also control the streaming volume using the Fire TV remote as they would otherwise.
  • It also provides an option to disconnect via shortcut by holding down the ‘Home’ button and selecting ‘Disconnect Hearing Aid’.
  • Furthermore, Amazon has also specified that the hearing aids feature works best when connected within 10 feet over a 5GHz Wi-Fi network and within sight of the Fire TV Cube. However, this feature also works on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks.
  • Amazon has also confirmed that they will be expanding Asha support to more devices later this year.
