First batch training of Agniveers will start from December 30, says Army: 10 points

Taking a significant step, the Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday announced the important decision to reserve 10 per cent vacancies in the Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles for Agniveers.

In a series of tweets, the Ministry of Home Affairs said, “Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to reserve 10 per cent vacancies for Agniveers for recruitment in CAPFs and Assam Rifles.”

“MHA has also decided to give 3 years relaxation from the prescribed upper age limit to Agniveers for recruitment in CAPFs and Assam Rifles. Also, for the first batch of Agniveers, age relaxation will be 5 years from the prescribed upper age limit. will be taken,” the MHA said.

It is worth noting that, on completion of their four-year term, Agnivers will get selection preferences under all the seven different security forces of the CAPFs, including Assam Rifles (AR), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). ), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), National Security Guard (NSG) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

Earlier, in a welcome move, the government had announced changes in the recruitment of ‘Agnivar’, raising the maximum entry age from 21 years to 23 years by giving a relaxation of two years in the form of one-time relaxation. Providing one-time relaxation, the Central Government announced that the upper age limit of Agniveer for recruitment through Agneepath Scheme has been increased from 21 years to 23 years.

Releasing an official statement on Agneepath Scheme, the Defense Ministry mentioned that the upper age limit has been relaxed as one-time relaxation as recruitment was not possible during two years.
