First Omicron case reported in Kerala; patient returned from uk

Thiruvananthapuram:

State Health Minister Veena George on Sunday said that the first case of the COVID-19 variant Omicron has been confirmed in Kerala.

In a video posted on his Facebook page, the minister said that the patient was a native of Kerala who had recently arrived from the United Kingdom.

He said that the patient’s condition is stable and there is no need to panic as the government is taking all necessary steps to prevent the spread of the new type of virus.
