‘No vacancy’

A senior BJP leader in Delhi said Kumar’s ambitions of a PM candidate were now out in the open and that was the reason he had ended the alliance with the BJP as there is no vacancy for the post in the saffron party. “It (the new poster) is his weak attempt to challenge Narendra Modi, which will have no further resonance than the JD(U)-RJD’s caste vote bank in Bihar,” the BJP leader claimed.

Earlier, talking to News18 in an interview, Union Rural Development Minister and BJP MP from Bihar Giriraj Singh had said that Nitish Kumar Wants to be the PM candidate of the opposition. “It has already started when he said ‘2014 wale 2024 mein rahein ke nahi’. He himself is now saying that many calls are coming to him. Nachna hai toh ghunghat kaisa, ab purdah open hai, baat real Yeh tha (the whole thing is coming out now, that was the real reason). That was the reason why they broke the alliance and a face saving reason was needed,” Singh had told News18.
