Officials of the Water Resources Department (WRD) have issued the first warning at Prakasam barrage here. The first warning was issued on Friday due to over 3.97 lakh cusecs at Prakasam barrage till 9.30 am.

Vijayawada Irrigation Division’s superintending engineer Sesham Tirumala Rao said the flood level at the summit of the barrage was 3:66 meters (12 feet) and all shutters were in clear condition. The flood water exceeded 3.97 lakh cusecs, and further increase was expected. The officials were asked to arrange additional guards and alert the flood duty officers as per rules.

In addition, information is obtained from dam sites including Allamatti Narayanpur, TB Dam, Srisailam, Nagarjuna Sagar. Dr. KLRS Pulichintala, Muniyaru, Paleru etc.
