Fitness Expert Shares Chicken Rice Recipe; The internet says, “Isn’t that slang?”

Indian food has essentially been a part of our daily diet. Sometimes, we fail to realize that our simple homemade food can actually be quite healthy. Believe it or not, even influencers on social media are slowly realizing it and adding recipes inspired by Indian cuisine to their fitness regime. Recently, fitness expert Tom Mills shared the recipe of ‘Chicken Rice’ on his handle. “Chicken and rice – the ultimate bodybuilding staple, the best ever,” he wrote in the caption of the video. Desi foodies quickly pointed out that this dish was actually our humble khichdi! Watch full video here:

The video was shared on Instagram by the fitness influencer’s official handle @tmlifting. Tom Mills gives regular fitness advice on how to eat right and what workouts to follow. In this special clip, he shared a process Which he called ‘the greatest chicken and rice recipe of all time’ and a ‘bodybuilding staple’. First, he cooked the rice with some spices including salt, pepper, garlic powder and turmeric. Then, he added chicken breast, bell pepper, and some Sriracha mayo to the dish. He said this chicken rice dish will pack 56 grams of protein and 650 calories!

Chicken rice is a great way to stock up on protein without loading up on calories.

The Chicken Rice Recipe video quickly went viral on social media, garnering over 360k views and 12.3k likes. People also shared their comments in large numbers. Some people really enjoyed this creation and were not aware of it. “Looks great, definitely have to try,” wrote a user While the other said, “One had to be saved, love them, we need more!” Other desi Indian eaters felt that the dish was very similar to Indian khichdi. One user wrote, ‘Indians have been eating it for centuries..it is called khichdi. Another even compared it to Biryani!
