Flash call verification method comes to WhatsApp – Times of India

WhatsApp It usually asks users to enter a six digit verification code sent to the given phone number via SMS or call to verify the user’s account. However, it was rumored that the company is working on another verification method called flash call Verification to make the process easier.
WABetainfo has now reported that the company has finally started rolling out the feature to the Android app itself as iOS does not provide a public API that allows the app to read call history.
Flash call verification is fast and users do not need to enter any verification code to authenticate their account. With flash call verification method, users will receive a call and then it will automatically disconnect and verification process will happen and WhatsApp will then login to your account. You will also be able to see the phone number from which you received the call in the call history.
For the Flash Call Verification feature to work, users will need to allow certain permissions to WhatsApp which include call history access and call access.
Meanwhile, the company is also testing some new features for its platform in beta. This includes the new group icon editor, the ability to hide online status from specific contacts, last seen, and more.
