Florida teen accepted into 27 universities, offered Rs 30 cr in scholarship

With the increasing competition in various fields, nowadays it is becoming difficult for the students to secure a seat in a good college. One has to be persistent, focused and determined to get into college in countries like the United States of America. Now imagine being accepted into all the colleges you wanted to, and that’s not it – you even secured a scholarship. It sounds like a dream come true, but it came true for a Florida teen. Jonathan Walker, 18, has gone viral after enrolling in 27 colleges and universities. In addition, a scholarship of $4 million (Rs 30 crore) has been offered to the student. Walker now has to choose from 27 colleges that have accepted his application. And these colleges are no ordinary, the list includes Ivy League universities like Harvard, Yale and the University of Pennsylvania.

“It’s so insane to think that I applied to all these colleges and I got into it,” Jonathan Walker told ABC7. He credits his success to his family. “I really look up to him because he showed me what it’s like to be passionate about something,” Walker says.

The boy is not a bookworm. The Rutherford High School student also plays for the football team, and while balancing studies and sports, he also takes the time to invent equipment. Walker is the first to invent devices that help blind and/or deaf people. “I’ve always loved making devices to help people, so I definitely want to pursue that,” he said.

Giving a word of advice for students aiming to apply to colleges for higher education, Walker suggests it’s all in the essays. “It’s really like writing a set of essays for a college and then revising them from there specifically for colleges,” he said.

Isn’t he a true inspiration to all the kids out there?
