The products will be available for both wholesalers and retailers, a department official was quoted as saying PTI.

Products such as freshwater and seawater frozen fish, dried fish, fish pickles and processed fish items will be sold through the app, which was developed by Aqua Blue Global Aquaculture Solutions Pvt Ltd in collaboration with the state fisheries department .

The Fisheries Minister expressed optimism that this would help the members of the fishing community to get fair price for their produce and eliminate middlemen.

Suklabaidya said that no other government, other than the one led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has recognized fish as an asset through its Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.
