A year after the Indian Police Service officer applied for voluntary retirement, the BJP government in Karnataka has not accepted his resignation.

Former IPS officer and Karnataka AAP vice-president Bhaskar Rao claimed in Bagalkot on August 23, “I was asked to join BJP after retirement, but I chose to join AAP.”

He told reporters that some BJP leaders had asked him to join their party, assuring him that ‘there will be no problem after that’. “However, I joined you because I liked its methodology.”

“The BJP government in Karnataka has not accepted his resignation even a year after I submitted it,” he said. Application for Voluntary Retirement, I suspect that he has not accepted the resignation as it would mean that I will continue to be a government employee. If I get actively involved in your activities, they can correct me in some case and stop me from working in opposition.

He claimed that many officers were planning to quit politics and join politics. “If we reveal their names, the government can create trouble for them,” he said. “The government is corrupt. Those in power are demanding 40-50% commission. So self-respecting officers are ready to resign. They cannot continue working in such a corrupt system,” he said.
