Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh Joins BJP Today, Meets Nadda

New Delhi [India]Sep 19 (ANI): Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh met Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda in Delhi on Monday. Amarinder Singh will join BJP today.

Along with Amarinder Singh, seven former MLAs and one former MP will also join the BJP.

Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) spokesperson Preetpal Singh Balliawal said on Friday, “Amarinder Singh may also merge his PLC party with the BJP.”

Amarinder announced his joining the BJP after meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on 12 September.

“Had a very fruitful meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah ji. Discussed various issues related to national security, rising cases of narco-terrorism in Punjab and future roadmap for overall holistic development of Punjab,” Singh had tweeted.

In September last year, Amarinder Singh had resigned from the Congress ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections and formed his own PLC and then forged an alliance with the BJP which had already made SAD (United) its ally. (ANI)
