Four injured after car overturns on Santhome High Road

Four youths, including two women, who were returning home from a resto bar, were injured when their car overturned on Santhome High Road on Wednesday.

Police said 22-year-old Srikanth from West Mambalam, who was driving the car, lost control of the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

The other passengers in the car were 24-year-old S.V. from West Mambalam. Madhukrishnan, who works as a photographer; Nityashree, 24, who works as a professor and 22-year-old Vandana, is a medical student.

The car was on its way from T Nagar to Old Mahabalipuram Road in the early hours of Wednesday. While negotiating a turn on Santhome High Road, Srikanth lost control of the vehicle and it hit a median and overturned.

Passers-by took the injured to the Government Royapettah Hospital.
