Four people of the same family injured in LPG cylinder explosion

Four members of the same family were burnt to death after a cylinder exploded at their residence in outer Delhi’s Nangloi on Monday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (External) Parvinder Singh said the injured have been identified as Daron, 40, his wife Reena, 35, both laborers and their two minor children – a 13-year-old son and a 15-year-old daughter.

Police said that they got information about the incident at 7.23 am where the caller said that a house in Nihal Vihar caught fire after a gas cylinder exploded. It was learned that while Daron was making tea, a leak occurred in a domestic gas cylinder that started the fire.

All the four injured were shifted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri and three fire tenders were pressed into service, police said.

Daron and his wife have suffered 80% and 50% burns respectively. It is being told that Daron is fighting for life and Reena’s condition is also critical. Police said the children are stable.
