Four-storey building collapses in Mumbai, 12 rescued, 10 feared trapped

Twelve people were rescued and 10 are feared trapped after a four-storey building collapsed in Mumbai, a fire brigade official said on Tuesday. A wing of a residential building located in Kurla’s Nayak Nagar Society collapsed around midnight, with the official warning that the attached fan could also collapse.

The local people told fire brigade personnel that when they reached the spot after getting information about the incident, around 20-22 people were buried under the debris, the official said. About a dozen fire tenders have been deployed at the site, apart from two rescue vans and other fire equipment, the official said.

Councilor Praveen Morajkar told media persons here, “A four-storey building collapsed in Naik Nagar.
