Shortly after Vamika’s birth in January 2021, the couple appealed to the paparazzi to refrain from clicking pictures of her. Anushka and Virat also sent a note to the paparazzi fraternity, which read, “Hello, thank you for all the love you have showered us with over the years. We are delighted to celebrate this momentous occasion with you. As parents We have a simple request from you. We want to protect our child’s privacy and we need your help and support.”

Last year, he revealed why he wanted the paparazzi not to publish pictures or videos of his baby girl. Anushka wrote in an Instagram post, “We want privacy for our child and do our best to give her the opportunity to live her life independently, away from the media and social media. Since she is older, we support her movement. Can’t ban and therefore needs your support so please exercise restraint in the matter.”

When Vamika’s pictures started doing the rounds on the internet last weekend, Anushka once again made a statement requesting fans and media portals not to publish her daughter’s pictures, saying she was not aware that the camera is on them.

“Hello guys! We realized that our daughter’s photos were captured at the stadium yesterday and then shared widely. We want to inform everyone that we were caught off guard and we didn’t know the camera was on us. Our stand and request matter remains the same. We would really appreciate it if Vamika’s images are not clicked/published for the reasons which we have explained earlier. Thank you!” She wrote.
