After the talks, he left for Ayodhya in a helicopter to carry the Kabul river water along with the Ganges at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple site. The gesture becomes even more important because with the Taliban coming to power in Afghanistan, women’s freedom has been curtailed and “in such a situation the girl’s gesture of sending water to the Ram temple is praiseworthy”. He said the Ayodhya temple has international appeal and people of different religions have expressed their sentiments in favor of it in different countries.

Adityanath has already said that 12 lakh “diyas” (earthen lamps) collected from all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh will be lit as part of Diwali in Ayodhya.
