From Rupali Ganguly to Tejashwi Prakash, TV celebs pay tribute to Bappi Lahiri

Legendary singer and composer Bappi Lahiri passed away on Tuesday, 15 February. He was 69 years old. The news of his death came in the morning and shocked everyone. Several television personalities took to social media to pay tribute to the legendary singer and composer.

Rupali Ganguly, who used to call Bappi Lahiri ‘Kaka’, shared a picture with the composer and wrote, “The legend. The king of music. My kaka. So many childhood memories spent at your home! Pappa and you started.” Samjhauta” and did so many movies and evergreen songs. So much recording, so much conversation, so much love and warmth… you always sing yaar bina chain kahan re whenever we meet! Our chat about Pappa will miss you! An era has come to an end for me today (sic).”

Bigg Boss 15 winner Tejasswi Prakash shared a picture of Bappi Lahiri on his Instagram stories and wrote, “Rest in peace Bappi Da! Till the end of the era… We all grew up listening to your songs and grooving to you. Will always be remembered Om Shanti (sic).”

Bappi Lahiri appeared in Bigg Boss 15. Recalling his appearance on the show, Karan Kundrra tweeted, “Sad and shocked.. you are a legend dada.. you gave us so much love and positivity when we came to Bibi’s house. Om Shanti on #bappilahiri (sic) can not believe.”

Hiten Tejwani also shared a photo with Bappi Lahiri on Instagram. He wrote, “Rest in peace bappi da (sic).”

Comedian Sugandha Mishra penned an emotional note sharing a picture with Bappi Da. “Our lovely and great Bappi da @bappilahiri_official_ apart from being an experienced singer/musician.. he was a gem of a person.. great human being, kind soul, fun loving.. always encouraging and motivating.. i still remember thats how i got a chance to meet him in my first tv show.. since 11 years ago(when i started my career)..he was very kind..always make me a part of sp occasions and celebrations..# Ganpati festival.. you will always be in our hearts Dada.. love and strength to the family.. #prayers #legendsneverdie (sic),” his note read.

Ronit Bose Roy also took to social media to pay his last respects to the music legend. He wrote, “Dada!!!! Tumi Chole Gale You were not only wearing gold. Your heart was pure gold too. Cheer Dada! Condolences and strength to the family no matter you, the discussion where I will be yours.”

Sharing a photo of Bappi Lahiri, Kapil Sharma wrote in Hindi, “Chalte chalte, remember my song, never say goodbye. You will always remember Bappi da. Om Shanti.”

Remembering the composer, Ekta Kapoor wrote, “Were Attitude on your sleeve! An icon!! Music lost its sheen today.

Bappi Lahiri breathed his last on February 15 at around 11.45 pm. They have two children – a son, Bappa Lahiri and a daughter, Rema Lahiri. Since Bappa is in America, the family is waiting for his arrival. He will perform the last rites of Bappi Lahiri. Bappa is married to Tanisha Lahiri, daughter of action director Mahendra Verma.
