From SBI to PNB: List of Banks Offering WhatsApp Banking Services

Best suited for digital banking customers. And with the advancement of technology, banking services are now available on WhatsApp for bank customers. All major banks like State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC, ICICI, Bank of Baroda (BOB), Axis Bank and Punjab National Bank (PNB) have WhatsApp banking facility for their customers. If you are a customer of any of the major banks in the country, here’s how to sign up for the WhatsApp banking facility.

In an effort to make banking services more accessible, state-owned Punjab National Bank (PNB) on October 3 said it has launched banking services through WhatsApp for both customers and non-customers.

To activate the banking facility on WhatsApp, customers need to first save the official PNB WhatsApp number 919264092640 in their phone book and start a conversation (on WhatsApp) by sending a hi/hello to this number.

State Bank Of India Recently launched WhatsApp banking service for its customers. To register bank account with SBI WhatsApp Banking Service, send SMS WAREG A/C No (917208933148) from your registered mobile number. After the registration is complete, you will be able to use the WhatsApp service of SBI.

“HDFC Bank Chat Banking is a chat service on WhatsApp where all customers can easily chat with us in a seamless manner to avail 90+ services and 24×7 transactions. It is an end-to-end encrypted and secure service offering provided by HDFC Bank on WhatsApp. However, this offer will be available only on the mobile number registered with the bank. All you have to do is add the number 70700 22222 to your contacts and start a conversation by saying “Hi”, HDFC Bank said on its website. There are more than 90 transactions and services available through HDFC Bank Chat Banking on WhatsApp.

To avail the WhatsApp Banking facility of ICICI Bank, you need to add the number 8640086400 to your contacts and say ‘Hi’ to 8640086400 from your registered mobile number. You can also give a missed call or SMS optin to 9542000030 to initiate a conversation through WhatsApp messaging platform by getting a secure and interactive menu on your mobile screen.

Axis Bank WhatsApp Banking Facility

Customers of private sector lender Axis Bank can also use WhatsApp Banking. “Just send a hi on WhatsApp to 7036165000 and subscribe with Axis Bank WhatsApp Banking. By subscribing, you get access to a wide range of services for products such as accounts/cheques, credit cards, fixed deposits and loans. Non-Axis Bank customers can access services like ‘apply for products’ and find the nearest ATM/branches/loan centres,” the lender said on its website.

Bank of Baroda said on its website, “We are delighted to announce the launch of “New Digital Delivery Channel – WhatsApp Banking”. Available in Hindi and English on international mobile numbers across countries.
