FTII, SRFTI admissions open, entrance exam in December

The registration process for Joint Entrance Test (JET) for admission to various courses of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata is now open. Candidates seeking admission in the academic year 2021-22 can submit their applications at applyjet2021.in by 2 December which is the last date for registration. The entrance exam will be conducted on December 18 and 19 at multiple centers across India.

The courses offered at these two premier institutes include Directing and Screenwriting, Screen Acting, Cinematography, Editing, Sound Recording and Sound Design, Production of Films and TV, Animation Cinema, Production Television Engineering, Art Direction and Production Designing. All PG Diploma will be conducted for a duration of three years.

Applicants have to select three cities for the entrance test on the basis of their choice. The applicant will be allotted any one of the three cities after the completion of the registration process.

JET 2021: Eligibility Criteria

Graduates or candidates currently in the final year of their undergraduate course can apply for various courses other than Art Direction and Production Design, which require specialization.

JET 2021: Selection Process

The candidates will be selected through a multi-stage process that starts with a three-hour written test consisting of both objective and subjective questions carrying a total of 100 marks. JET 2021 will be conducted in 27 cities of India. Candidates who qualify for the exam will be called for the second round. Thereafter, a merit list of candidates will be prepared on the basis of their performance in the selection process, and shortlisted ones will be admitted to full time regular courses at FTII or SRFTI for the academic year 2021-22.

JET for FTII and SRFTI admissions is usually conducted in the month of February with classes commencing in August, however, this year the admission process was delayed due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 batch of institutes started earlier this year, while the foundation course continued in online mode.
