Fuel prices hiked for sixth consecutive day, petrol breaches Rs. 110/L mark in Mumbai

For the first time ever, petrol prices in Mumbai have crossed Rs. 110-issue, currently priced at Rs. 110.12 per litre, after a hike of 29 paise while diesel by 37 paise to Rs. 100.29 per liter to Rs. 100.66 per liter.

State-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Sunday hiked fuel prices for the sixth consecutive day. According to the details listed on the official website of the oil retailer, petrol prices in Delhi were hiked by 30 paise, while diesel became costlier by 35 paise per litre. With the latest price hike, fuel rates have hit new all-time highs across the country. In the national capital Delhi, petrol has crossed the 103 mark retail sales of ₹104.14 per litre, while diesel too touched a new high of ₹92.82 per litre. Fuel prices vary from state to state, depending on the value added tax (VAT) levied by the state government.

Petrol and diesel prices in Mumbai increased by 29 paise and 37 paise, respectively.

For the first time, petrol prices in financial capital Mumbai have crossed the Rs 110 mark from the current Rs 110.12 per liter after a hike of 29 paise. At the same time, diesel increased by 37 paise to Rs 100.66 per liter from Rs 100.29 per liter. Other metro cities saw a similar increase in fuel prices. In Chennai, petrol rose by 26 paise to Rs 101.53 per liter from Rs 101.27 per liter, while diesel rose by 33 paise to Rs 97.26 per litre. In Kolkata, customers will have to pay ₹104.80 per liter for petrol and ₹95.93 per liter for diesel. Petrol and diesel prices in Bengaluru have gone up to Rs 107.77 per liter and Rs 98.52 per liter respectively. Petrol in Hyderabad now costs ₹108.33 per litre, while diesel has crossed ₹101 mark, which is currently ₹101.27 per litre.

Fuel rates remain the most expensive in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar district as customers will have to pay Rs 116.18 per liter for petrol and Rs 106.86 per liter for diesel. In Anuppur and Rewa districts of Madhya Pradesh, petrol has touched ₹115.51 per liter and ₹115.11 per liter, while diesel is selling at ₹104.52 and ₹104.16 per liter respectively. Fuel rates in Parbhani district of Maharashtra have reached ₹112.67 per liter and ₹101.57 per liter respectively. Diesel sells above ₹100 mark in cities like Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Raipur, Thane, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
