Fuel prices hiked for the third day in a row; Diesel Violation Rs. 102/L mark in Mumbai

With the latest revision, fuel rates have touched new all-time highs across the country. In Mumbai, petrol prices have currently increased by 34 paise, retailing Rs. 111.43 per liter while diesel prices in the city increased by Rs. 37 paise, price Rs. 102.15 per liter.

Fuel rates continue to rise as oil marketing companies hike petrol and diesel prices for the third consecutive day across the country. According to the details listed on the official website of IndianOil, the rates of petrol and diesel in the national capital have been hiked by 35 paise each. Customers in Delhi will now have to pay ₹105.49 per liter for petrol and ₹94.22 per liter for diesel. This is the third consecutive price hike as rates remained unchanged on October 12 and 13, respectively. Fuel prices vary from state to state, depending on the value added tax (VAT) levied by the state government.

Diesel is being sold at Rs 94.22 per liter in Delhi, while the price of petrol is Rs 105.49 per litre.

In Mumbai, petrol prices are already above the 111-mark, which currently stands at ₹111.43 per liter after a hike of 34 paise. Diesel has crossed the Rs 102 level after increasing by 37 paise. Customers will now have to pay ₹102.15 per liter for diesel. Similar hike in fuel prices was also registered in other metro cities. In Chennai, the price of petrol has now gone up to Rs 102.70 per liter while diesel has touched Rs 98.59 per litre. Petrol now costs Rs 106.10 per liter in Kolkata, while diesel costs Rs 97.33 per litre. In Hyderabad, customers will have to pay ₹109.10 per liter and ₹102.80 per liter for petrol and diesel respectively. Petrol has increased to Rs 109.16 per liter in Bengaluru, while diesel is retailing at Rs 100 per litre.

Fuel rates are most expensive in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar district, where petrol costs Rs 117.59 per liter while diesel costs Rs 108.37. In Anuppur and Rewa districts of Madhya Pradesh, customers will have to pay ₹116.91 per liter and ₹116.51 per liter for petrol. On the other hand, diesel is sold at ₹106.01 per liter and ₹105.65 per liter in these districts. Fuel rates in Parbhani district of Maharashtra have gone up to ₹113.97 per liter and ₹103.02 per liter respectively. The price of petrol and diesel in Bhopal has reached ₹ 114.09 per liter and ₹ 103.40 per liter.
