Addressing a webinar on the impact of Budget 2022 on the education and skills sector, the PM said that the budget focuses on universalisation of quality education and the Animation Visual Effects Gaming Comic (AVGV) space.

He said that important decisions have been taken for universalization of quality education through expansion of education with better quality and enhanced capabilities of the education sector. “This budget will go a long way in realizing the NEP,” he said.

He also said that it was digital connectivity that kept the country’s education system running during the pandemic.

“Innovation is ensuring inclusion in our country. Now moving even further, the country is moving towards unity.”

Talking about measures like e-Vidya, One Class One Channel, Digital Lab, Digital University, Modi said that these initiatives are creating an educational infrastructure which will go a long way in helping the youth of the country.

“It is an attempt to provide better education solutions to the villages, poor, downtrodden, backward and tribal people in the socio-economic structure of the country.”

Talking about the recently announced National Digital University, Modi said that it is an innovative and unprecedented step which has the potential to completely address the problem of seats in universities. He called upon the Ministry of Education, UGC and AICTE and all other stakeholders of the Digital University to work expeditiously on the project.

He stressed the need to keep in mind the international standards while setting up the institute.

On Monday, on the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the PM underlined the link between education through mother tongue and the mental development of children.

Noting that medical and technical education is also being imparted in local languages ​​in many states, the PM called for accelerating the creation of best-in-class content in digital format in local Indian languages.

He stressed that such content should be available through internet, mobile phones, TV and radio. He reiterated the need to prioritize the work on material in sign languages.

“Dynamic skilling is critical from the perspective of global talent demand for a self-reliant India,” Modi said. He highlighted the need to tailor the country’s ‘demographic dividend’ as per the demands of changing job roles.
