G20 ETWG meeting in Bengaluru between February 5-7

Delegates of the first meeting of the G20 Energy Transition Working Group are scheduled to visit the Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka’s Tumakuru district to witness India’s push towards the renewable sector.

The first G20 Energy Transition Working Group meeting (ETWG) will be held in Bengaluru from 5 to 7 February.

The meeting will be attended by more than 150 participants and nine special invitee countries, along with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and several other international organizations.

Focus Areas of the G20 Energy Transition Working Group Meeting

Under the Ministry of Power, which is the nodal ministry for the ETWG, the meeting will have six focus areas – energy transition through addressing technology gaps, low-cost financing for energy transition, energy security and diversified supply chain, energy efficiency, Industrial low carbon transition and responsible consumption, sectors for the future and universal access to clean energy.

An International Symposium on ‘Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS)’ will be organized during the ETWG meeting.

Infosys campus visit in Bangalore

The delegates are scheduled to visit Infosys Green Building Campus and Pavagada Solar Park to see India’s push towards renewable sector and efforts to mitigate climate change.
