Game streaming platform Rutgers to host eSports tournament

New Delhi: Router, a game and esports streaming The platform will host the Battlegrounds Mobile India tournament starting later this month. The tournament will be a route for teams to qualify for their ‘Pro Series LAN’ to be held later in the year.

Thirty-two top Indian teams (24 invited and eight underdog teams) will play in the 10-day tournament. Battlegrounds Mobile India is one of the most important mobile game that has been launched within a month with more than 50 million downloads.

Teams in the tournament will play for a prize pool 1.5 million. The program will be telecast on the platform in six languages. The BGMI Invitational eSports Tournament will be a compilation of 50 hours of premium-produced content streamed on its app.

GodLike Esports, or Esports, Chemin Esports, Orangutan Gaming, Team Celtz, Revenge Esports, GodLike Girls, Rivalry, Enigma Gaming, Nigma Galaxy, Imprint Esports, R Esports are some of the teams participating in the tournament.

According to Statista, in FY 2021, the revenue of the eSports industry in India was around 2.5 billion. Streaming revenue was a big part of that year’s revenue earnings.
