Bhiwandi: A Ganesh Mandal Whose replica has been made at Bhiwandi in Thane district of Maharashtra? Ayodhya‘s Ram Mandir Which has now become the center of attraction for the devotees.
Dhamankar Naka Mitra Mandal, famous for making replicas of major temples during the Ganesh festival, has built a 120 feet high replica of Ayodhya’s Ram temple.
Not only the city, but people from Kalyan and Thane are also reaching the pandal to have a glimpse of the decorations and take selfies.
To create the replica of the temple, the Mandal had engaged 125 artists, including 90 artists from Kolkata, for over 40 days. More than 5,000 bamboo, 10,000 meters of fabric and 10 tons of sticks were used to make the replica which is 98% eco-friendly.
Santosh Shetty, President dhamankar naka friend circle And Swabhiman Seva Sanstha said, “Every year, we made replicas of famous temples across the country and since the temple of Lord Ram is under construction, this year we decided to make a replica of it.”
According to Shetty, around 20,000 devotees visit the congregation every day to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha and see the temple replica of Rama.
This year, Mandal, celebrating its 34th year, organized a drawing competition on former President of India Dr. Abdul Kalam for the 10th time in which more than 4,000 students participated.

Mandal representative Dilip Poddar said, “During the drawing competition, we also organized street plays in 22 schools on various social issues like child abuse, self-defense of women and other issues to make students aware.
The Mandal has also organized its own competition to encourage games like Langdi and Malkhamb. It also donated 25 sewing machines to widows for their empowerment.
