Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland has announced the appointment of Ganesh Mani as the President and Head of Operations. Mani’s role at the company will include overseeing the company’s entire manufacturing operations as well as managing the company’s supply chains.
Speaking on the appointment, Dhiraj G Hinduja, Executive Chairman, said, “I am delighted to announce this appointment as Ganesh brings to Ashok Leyland a rich experience of over 3 decades and has been involved in the manufacturing process, strategy and manufacturing process. Mani will oversee Ashok Leyland’s manufacturing operations and supply chains.
Mani has vast experience in operations, having previously served as the Director of Manufacturing Operations at Hyundai Motor India during his 6-year stint with the company. He had resigned from his post only last week. Mani also spent nearly three decades with Maruti Suzuki rising to the position of Vice President (Vertical Operations Control), when he left the company in late 2015. Over the years Mani has accumulated seven patents/copyrights to his credit for specialized manufacturing processes.

Mani also currently serves as the Vice President of the Confederation of Indian Industry Chennai Region.
