Greater Noida: Police has registered a case against three miscreants for duping people in the name of getting jobs. Kuwait airport, officials said on Monday. The office of the miscreants was in Shahberi area of ​​Noida Extension and when the team raided the office was found closed.
According to the police, the accused have been identified as Sajid, Abdul Parvez and Israt Ali, all residents of Bisrakh in Noida Extension.
In the complaint lodged by Ishtikhar Ahmed, a native of Amethi, he said that a group of 45 people from Amethi, Barabanki and Faizabad were cheated. In the complaint filed on Saturday, the victims mentioned that each of them paid between Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000 to get their visa.
“We all belong to poor families and wanted to go abroad to earn more money and support our family. We contacted three people who had offices in Shahberi. We were all given fake visas by them. We paid him around Rs 40,000-45,000 and now his office is closed.”
Some of the victims also alleged that the accused were threatening them and not returning their original passports.
One such victim Masruddin, who hails from Faizabad, told TOI that he previously worked at Dammam airport in Saudi Arabia. However, last year he had to return to India after losing his job. “In January this year, we came to know that there is a job opportunity at Kuwait airport. Our group decided to enroll for it as we had already worked at the airport and were experienced. My group of 10 people contacted Sajid and Parvez. We handed over our passports to them to get the visa. After a few days, they gave us our medical reports, however, when we cross-checked, they were found to be fake. When we questioned him about this, he took us into confidence and said that he has sent many people abroad and will send us too.
In February, most of the complainants got their visas, however, when they were verified, they were also found to be bogus. Initially the accused were in touch with the victims but in March the accused told them that they would not return their passports. “We visited his office in Shahberi, but it was closed. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against the accused Indian Penal Code Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation). “Teams have been formed to nab the miscreants. Hope the accused have duped more people,” said Yogendra Singh, ACP-2, Central Noida.
