The upcoming GasGas adventure bike will get a brand new 400cc single-cylinder engine

A spy shot of the new Dakar-inspired single-cylinder adventure bike was first revealed a few weeks ago and was earlier believed to be a more hard-core rally version of the KTM 390 Adventure. But now more information has come out which indicates that after all this new bike will not be KTM. The new bike will not be powered by the KTM 390 Adventure’s 373 cc engine, but an all-new 399 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is being developed by KTM. And the production bike will be a gasgas road-legal model inspired by the 400 cc Dakar racers.

The new bike is expected to be offered in production form in 2024, and may even offer a range of new Supermoto and Enduro variants ranging from 125cc to 700cc. The new 399 cc engine is expected to be introduced in the next generation 390 Duke, expected in 2023, and will likely make its way to Husqvarna models in a similar segment, including a new Husqvarna Norden 401 adventure bike. is included. The power figures are likely to be a little over 43 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 37 Nm from the 373 cc unit at 7,000 rpm,

The new bike is expected to be offered as the same product line-up of GasGas, and will be based on a new 400 cc single-cylinder engine, which will also be used in the next generation KTM 390 Duke or KTM 400 Duke.

The new GasGas bike will use KTM’s proprietary WP suspension at the front and rear with Made in India, Baybre brakes. The bike will roll on a combination of 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels with chunky off-road capable knobby tyres. The instrument console seen on the prototype feels identical to the current KTM 390 Adventure, so there may be some parts shared between the sister brands, including a KTM-style tubular steel trellis unit on the GasGas.

0 notes

The upcoming GasGas adventure bike is expected to be the first model with the new 399 cc engine, but it could make way for the next generation KTM and Husqvarna models that will be offered in India. It would be interesting to know whether Peerer will look to introduce the GasGas brand in India? At this point in time, this doesn’t seem like a possibility, given the fact that GasGas has no brand recalls in India.
