GATE 2022: After Sonipat, Panipat, Idukki now out of exam cities list

NS Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022 will not happen in Idukki, a district in Kerala. Idukki has been removed from the list of exam centers for the upcoming exam. This takes the total excluded cities to three. Earlier Sonipat and Panipat were also removed from the list.

Sonipat is in limelight since JEE Mains 2021. After the engineering examination was conducted, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation found that At least one exam center in Sonipat was compromised. A coaching center had allegedly hacked the system of an examination center in Sonepat and helped candidates cheat in the examination with the help of experts sitting in remote areas.

NS Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur – The exam conducting institute said in an official notice, “We regret to inform you that the examination cities of Sonipat, Panipat and Idukki have been cancelled. Candidates opting for these cities are requested to do so without additional fee.” Change city option.” The reasons for the removal of these test cities are not yet known.

The application correction window is also available on the official website gate.iitkgp.ac.in. So the institute has asked the candidates to edit the exam city in the application form accordingly. Candidates can edit till 12th November.

For each edit, candidates have to pay a fee of Rs 500 including name, date of birth, choice of exam cities, change in existing paper, gender, category, name of parent or guardian, address, college name, location and roll number Will happen. . Fee is non-refundable.

GATE 2022 exam is scheduled to be conducted on February 5, 6, 12 and 13, 2022 in two shifts from 9 am to 12 noon and from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Those who clear the exam will be eligible to take admission in IITs in MTech courses as well as apply for jobs in PSUs.
