George Soros is ‘a raving lunatic’, age has added up: KP Singh of DLF

A “crazy nut” and an aging “barking dog” as described by real estate tycoon KP Singh Billionaire financier George Soroswho made a reason Outrage in India Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s grip on power will weaken after the Adani-Hindenburg upheaval.

Mr Singh, who ran India’s largest listed private real estate company DLF Ltd and is known for his outspokenness, said in an interview with PTI That India has got the best democratically elected Prime Minister who has been elected not once but twice with a thumping majority.

“When you do something nice, so many dogs bark. Do you respond to each dog? No. Dogs bark but calm down after some time,” he said.

On comments made by Mr Soros at the Munich Security Conference, he said, “The truth of the matter is that when you rise up others try to pull you down.”

“She’s a raving lunatic, completely,” he said.

“Although he is younger than me. I am 93 [and he is 92] But that age is by nature sometimes confused thinking,” he said in an hour-long interview, where he spoke candidly about a wide range of topics, from urbanization to golf and his love for the arts.

Mr Soros had said on Thursday that “PM Modi and business tycoon Mr Adani are close associates; their fortunes are intertwined” and the group’s troubles after allegations of fraud by a US short-seller “hit Mr Modi on India’s market”. Will greatly weaken the hold of the federal government” and “open the door to pursue much-needed institutional reforms”.

The ruling BJP on Friday accused Mr Soros of trying to undermine India’s democracy.

Mr. Singh said that the ministers of the government and the ruling party have responded appropriately to Mr. Soros’ comments.

Mr Soros, he said, is “nothing” and his “nonsense” comments can in no way undermine democracy in the country.

Asked what he would say if he met Mr Soros, Mr Singh said, “I would say you are very wrong. I would say India has got the best democratically elected Prime Minister. I would say which democracy I am like this. A prime minister has got many votes, not just once. [but] twice [in democratic elections],

Without commenting on the motives behind Mr Soros’ comments, the DLF chairman emeritus said, “Is he feeling jealous of [Mr. Modi],

“Can India be governed by an asymmetric government?” He asked. “India needs a strong-willed person, that’s why he is voted in. Who is he? What does George Soros have to do with this. Complete nonsense.”

Apple-to-airports conglomerate Adani Group under severe pressure after US short-seller Hindenburg Research On 24 January it accused him of accounting fraud and stock manipulation, allegations the group denied as “malicious”, “baseless” and a “planned attack on India”.

The group’s listed firms lost nearly $125 billion in market value in three weeks before some stocks recovered in the past few days.
