Sarma asked the employees willing to take leave to be ready to submit a dozen photographs to prove that they stayed with their parents or in-laws during the four days. While the state government has allowed holiday on Thursday and Friday, the special holiday will be extended to weekend holidays on Saturday and Sunday, making it a four-day holiday.
Sources said that though the government decided to allow four days’ leave for a noble cause, the officials were planning to go to tourist places leaving their parents or in-laws alone at home.
