Delhi Police has created several fake accounts on the 23-year-old social media platform. Police said on Wednesday that Roshan Sharma was arrested from Loni in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district. According to the police, Sharma has claimed that the elder’s brothers had created the fake account to avenge him. He told that his ‘girl friend’ (female friend) is a friend of the victim and when he got into trouble with his own ‘girl friend’, she joined in and got her brothers to beat her up.

The victim, a resident of North East Delhi’s Jyoti Nagar, in her complaint to the police last month alleged that someone had created several fake accounts of her on Instagram and ‘uploaded’ her morphed photos and also posted her mobile number. Joy Tirkey, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of North East Delhi, said that during the investigation, the police found three accounts on Instagram posting pictures of the victim being poisoned and molested. According to him, his mobile number was also posted in the account.
