Goa Assembly Election 2022: Nitin Gadkari to release BJP’s manifesto today

Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari will release the manifesto of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the Goa Assembly elections on Tuesday.

Notably, the party had put on hold its manifesto to be released on Sunday following the demise of renowned singer Lata Mangeshkar.

Gadkari will reach Dabolim airport at 11 am today and will leave for Panaji. The party has set the time for releasing the manifesto in the capital city at 12:30 pm.

After releasing the election manifesto, Gadkari will be involved in various campaign programs throughout the day. He will address a public meeting at Pernem bus stand at 5 pm to promote the campaign of BJP’s Pernem candidate Praveen Arlekar.

After this, Gadkari will leave for Thivim to address a public meeting at Sirsai ground at 6 pm. BJP candidate from this seat is Nilakant Halarankar.

At 7.30 pm, Gadkari will address a rally near the Ganpati temple in Siolim. Dayanand Mandrekar is contesting from Siolim seat.

Tulsidas Gavas, Vishwanath Khalap and Narayan Mandrekar have been appointed in-charge for public meetings in Pernem, Thivim and Siolim constituencies respectively.

Gadkari will conclude his day-long promotional programs and will leave for Dabolim airport the same day.

Meanwhile, the Congress party and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released their manifesto last month.

  • 500 crore from the government fund will be allocated for employment generation.
  • 30 percent reservation for women in government jobs.
  • A Staff Selection Commission will be set up to get rid of “scams” in the allocation of government jobs.
  • Under the Nyaya scheme, families of weaker sections will be given 6,000 per month.
  • The Congress has assured to build hostels for working women in Margao and Panaji and to increase the number of police stations under the supervision of women.
  • The party has also announced that the prices of petrol and diesel will not be allowed to rise. 80 per litre, and the party government will subsidize the remaining amount.

Goa Election 2022: AAP’s Manifesto

  • The party’s manifesto is centered around the three Ps- Preservation, Progress and Prosperity.
  • AAP party said that it will solve the unemployment problem of the people of his constituency on priority basis.
  • AAP will reserve 80% jobs for local people.
  • Guaranteed monthly unemployment allowance 3000 for the unemployed till they get employment.
  • In Kambarjua, AAP candidate Gorakhnath Kerkar promised to solve the water problem of Kambarjua constituency and to set up a proper waste collection system for the constituency. In addition, he promised uninterrupted power supply and proper planning to ease traffic congestion in Kambarjua.
  • AAP Cortalim candidate Alina Saldanha has also promised to scrap three linear projects that cross Molem biodiversity, and strictly enforce restrictions on trawler fishing, LED fishing, and bull trawling within a 5km radius and do not conduct any construction activity within the CRZ areas.
  • In Nuvem, AAP candidate Mariano Godinho promised a special government policy to protect traditional Goan bakers, shack owners and coconut breakers. He also promised to set up laboratories to test formalin in fish, and aims to restore the Sal River.

Assembly elections will be held in Goa on February 14. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
