Goa Election 2022: TMC victimized our leaders, says Congress’s P Chidambaram. Goa News – Times of India

All India Congress Committee (AICC) senior election observer P Chidambaram

Panaji: All India Congress Committee (AICC) senior election observer P Chidambaram on Sunday said the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has hunted down Congress leaders in Goa. First, it was Luizinho Faleiro.
Four days after the Congress announced the first list on December 16, which preyed on Alexo Reginaldo Lourenco, Chidambaram told reporters why the Congress has the Bengal party’s cold shoulder.
“Suggestion for alliance was received from TMC on 24th December, but even after that, they took our leaders from Vasco and Mormugao. All these facts were before AICC. I had no direction to negotiate, so the matter closed. The senior Congress leader said.
Lourenco, former working president of Goa Congress and former MLA from Curtorim, was named in the first list of Congress candidates released last month, but less than a week later, Lourenco resigned and joined the TMC.
Besides, the Congress has lost many grassroots workers and mid-level functionaries since the TMC launched its Goa scheme in September last year.
Earlier this week, TMC office-bearers had said that Chidambaram should be held responsible if the BJP wins the 2022 assembly elections and forms the government in Goa.
The TMC has forged an alliance with the Goa-based regional party, the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), while the Congress has a pre-poll alliance with the Goa Forward Party (GFP), which is also a Goa regional party.
