With the commencement of voting in Goa, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed confidence of winning more than 22 seats in the state and forming the government again. Voting began on February 14 for 40 assembly seats in Goa. A total of 301 candidates from different political parties are in the fray in Goa. The incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been challenged by Congress, Trinamool Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in a multi-cornered election contest in Goa. Counting of votes in Goa will take place on March 10.
