“It seems that the meeting has been called to put an end to the ongoing CM-ship feud and to inform the leaders about the possible names for the chief minister’s post,” the source said.

Goa CM Pramod Sawant and BJP MLA Vishwajit Rane were both present in the meeting. Party sources said that both the leaders are in the forefront for the top post.

It is believed that who will be sworn in as the next Chief Minister of Goa, the state leadership has been informed about it in the meeting. Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and BJP MLA T Vishwajit Singh also attended the meeting held at Shah’s residence.

Sources said that the last Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Yumnam Khemchand was also present in the meeting. “All these CM candidates as well as Nirmala Sitharaman, who is the observer, will visit Manipur on Sunday and the CM’s announcement may be made very soon,” the source said.

“There are two names in the party which are considered to be strong contenders for the post of Manipur CM and if none of them gets the post, there is a strong possibility of one of them being declared CM,” a source said.
