GameInformer’s video teaser, for a brief moment, shows off the new Dwarf Realm that new and returning players will be able to explore for the first time. Now, it’s being speculated that access to the new realm may have something to do with Brock and Sindri, two dwarves who helped Kratos and Atreus in the previous game.

In a fight against Asgard, Kratos and Atreus battle the Norse gods in an attempt to stop the catastrophe called Ragnarok. And as it turns out, the game will be the final chapter in the Norse duology. The game will also have nine fully-explorable areas, which you couldn’t in 2018’s Game of the Year, God of War.

Commenting on the controls and button combination, Mihir Sheth of Sony Santa Monica said, “In the previous game, if you pressed triangle, you would remember the ax, but if you already had the ax, nothing. Happened. If you had Blades of Chaos and you hit Triangle, you went back to the axe. We looked at that concept and thought, ‘What if you could do something different with that button – a whole new set of moves Suit.'”

Similar to the previous game, Ragnarok will feature multi-layered gameplay with a range of weapons to fight against Kratos’ enemies. The trailer further shows Kratos’ ability to hook onto the ledge and cross the area using the Blades of Chaos.

As featured by GameInformer, God of War Ragnarok features improved shield mechanics as well as Kratos’ shield glowing red if the player parries at the last possible moment, after which Kratos executes a smash to stun enemies. Can be both big and small. Sony Santa Monica’s Lead Combat Designer Danny Yeh says players will have access to more shields in the game, but cautions “Maybe don’t play with all your food, as there will be food that can eat away at you very easily. “
