Gold falls marginally by ₹35; Silver jumped ₹295

According to HDFC Securities, gold prices fell marginally by Rs 35 to Rs 51,697 per 10 grams in the national capital on Friday amid a firming rupee.

In the previous trade, the yellow metal had closed at ₹51,732 per 10 grams.

In contrast, silver jumped by ₹295 to ₹66,752 per kg from ₹66,457 per kg in the previous trade.

The rupee on Friday closed 13 paise higher at 75.90 (provisional) against the US dollar as the RBI maintained status quo on the benchmark lending rate.

In the international market, gold and silver were flat at $ 1,931 an ounce and $ 24.65 an ounce, respectively.

“The spot gold price on COMEX on Friday was $1,931 an ounce,” said Dilip Parmar, Retail Research Analyst, HDFC Securities.
