An international traveler who tried to smuggle gold of foreign origin was arrested by customs officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad here on Saturday evening.

The accused passenger reached Hyderabad airport from Jeddah on Saudi Airlines flight SV 754.

Officials said the gold (three bangles and three small pieces) was concealed in the check-in baggage. Further investigation is on.
