Gold fell by Rs 271; Silver fell by Rs 687

According to HDFC Securities, gold prices fell by Rs 271 to Rs 46,887 per 10 grams in the national capital on Friday, reflecting fall in precious metal prices internationally. In the previous trade, this precious metal had closed at Rs 47,158 per 10 grams.

Silver also declined by Rs 687 to Rs 63,210 per kg from Rs 63,897 per kg in the previous trade.

In the international market, gold was trading flat at $ 1,795 an ounce and silver at $ 23.89 an ounce.

“Spot gold on Comex was trading 0.18 per cent lower at $1,795 an ounce,” said Tapan Patel, Senior Analyst (Commodities), HDFC Securities.

He said a strong dollar and mixed global cues kept pressure on the yellow metal.
