Gold rose ₹264; Silver climbs ₹362

In the international market, gold was trading higher at $ 1,739 an ounce and silver was trading flat at $ 22.26 an ounce.

Gold prices rose by Rs 264 to Rs 45,123 per 10 grams in the national capital on Wednesday, tracking a correction in global precious metal prices as well as rupee depreciation, according to HDFC Securities.

In the previous trade, the precious metal had closed at ₹44,859 per 10 grams.

Silver also jumped by ₹362 to ₹58,825 per kg from ₹58,463 per kg in the previous trade.

The Indian rupee ended 13 paise lower at 74.19 against the US dollar in early trade on Wednesday.

According to Tapan Patel, Senior Analyst (Commodities), HDFC Securities, “Gold prices on Wednesday took some losses in the past after falling to a seven-week low.”

Navneet Damani, VP – Commodity Research, Motilal Oswal Financial Services said steady trading after a fall in gold prices in the previous session, weighed on gains in the dollar and US Treasury yields.
