Gold rose ₹434; Silver rises by ₹ 918

According to HDFC Securities, gold in the national capital on Thursday jumped by Rs 434 to Rs 50,887 per 10 grams, supported by depreciation of the yellow metal in international markets as well as support for depreciating rupee.

In the previous trade, the precious metal had closed at ₹50,453 per 10 grams.

Silver also rose by ₹918 to ₹61,776 per kg from ₹60,858 per kg in the previous trade.

The rupee on Thursday declined by 10 paise to close at 77.60 (provisional) against the US dollar.

In the international market, gold was trading at $ 1,852 an ounce and silver was trading marginally higher at $ 22 an ounce.

HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodities) Tapan Patel said, “Gold prices traded 0.32% higher on COMEX on Thursday at $1,852 an ounce on COMEX. A weak dollar led to a rise in gold prices. ”
