Gold rose ₹52; Silver falls by ₹60

According to HDFC Securities, gold prices rose by Rs 52 to Rs 50,770 per 10 grams in the national capital on Tuesday.

However, silver fell by Rs 60 to Rs 60,128 per kg from Rs 60,188 per kg in the previous trade.

The rupee on Tuesday fell 46 paise to close at a record low of 78.83 (provisional) against the US dollar, buoyed by continued foreign capital outflows and buoyancy in crude oil prices.

In the international market, gold was trading at USD 1,827 an ounce while silver was flat at USD 21.27 an ounce.

HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodities) Tapan Patel said, “Gold prices traded in a narrow range on mixed global cues amid bearish concerns and expectations of an interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve.
