Avatar Kishan Hangal Popularly known as AK Hangal, he was born on February 1, 1914 in Sialkot, Punjab. Pakistan, Apart from being an actor, he was also known as a freedom fighter who fought for India’s independence, In 1949 (after being exiled from Pakistan) Hangal moved to Mumbai and joined the Indian People’s Theater Association (IPTA), where he met like-minded individuals such as Prithviraj Kapoor, Balraj Sawhney And Kaifi Azmi. His career started with ‘Teesri Kasam’ (1966) with Raj Kapoor and ‘Shagird’ (1967) with Saira Banu. Hangal became familiar with playing character roles like a loving father, helpful neighbor, loyal servant or a close relative. He is best known for his role in: Rahim uncle In ‘Sholay’ (1975).
