Automotive Services Startups go mechanic today announced the launch of a new series extended warranty Packages for all car makes and models. There are five packages which include Authorized Warranty, 360-Degree Protection, Engine Warranty, Suspension Cover and Brake Warranty. These extended warranty packages are available at a starting price of Rs.200 per month across 60+ cities in India.
GoMechanic’s Extended Warranty claims to offer coverage of critical systems including engine, suspension and brakes, among other key systems, alleviating concerns about maintenance, wear and tear on the car’s systems. Packages also cover consumables, labor costs and wear and tear.
Startup’s Extended Warranty also offers free roadside assistance (RSA). GoMechanic has started the orientation and sensitization process in its 1000+ workshops, instructing on-the-ground ‘Service Friends’ to increase customer awareness about the programme.
The packages are compatible with all popular Indian car brands and models. These cars (which apply for extended warranties) go through a number of checks before they are approved. If the car passes the check, it gets warranty coverage without any restrictions. The warranty is flexible, and customers can choose the type of warranty required for their vehicle and can be availed annually for as low as Rs.999 with no-cost EMI option.

According to GoMechanic’s in-house research, 65% of car owners are dissatisfied with extended warranty services due to the lengthy claims process and lack of transparency. However, 70% of users preferred a warranty covering wear and tear, critical systems, and emergency roadside assistance.
