Considering the ability to turn off recommendations from specific content creators is reportedly one of the app’s highly requested features, this all-or-nothing approach is now changing.
What is Google Discover?
The Google app has a separate section called Discover Feed that helps users watch news and YouTube videos. But users might not like some of these recommended videos that they specifically want to hide from the Discover feed. This is where the new option comes in handy which allows users to block videos from a particular YouTube channel without affecting other recommended videos.

How does the new option work
Google Discover has allowed users to hide content they don’t want to see from certain websites. A similar option was much needed for YouTube videos because forcing users to disable YouTube recommendations if they didn’t like a particular video was never a permanent solution.
Now, if users don’t like a specific YouTube channel’s video, they can tap on the three-dot menu button available at the bottom-left of the video slab and use the disable option to block that particular channel. Huh. The new option is named “Don’t show content from (specific channel) on YouTube” and we’ve added a screenshot below to show how it looks.

It seemed that the feature was working for some YouTube channels, but was not available for all channels. This new option can also help users personalize the content they see on their Discover feed. The articles and videos that appear in this section are mostly based on users’ searches and Google can sometimes go overboard with recommendations that may even be irrelevant.

Earlier, Google’s desktop homepage was rumored to block all Youtube videos option.
