Google Docs is one of the most used apps or tools for typing and documentation work. The free-to-use, along with features like auto-save and easy sharing, have moved many older Microsoft Word users to Google Docs. Now, Google is making Docs even more useful with a new update that makes it easier for users to create and edit inline tables, along with other new improvements and improvements over Google’s proprietary typing software.

According to a blog post from the company, Google “Many new ways to customize tables” have been added to Google Docs. New features include a sidebar to manage table properties, rows, columns, and the ability to adjust the alignment of the table. Edits will appear in the document in real-time, just like any other change you make to a Google Docs document. The new update enables users to drag a row or column to a different location. They can also pin one or more rows in a table so that they repeat on each page on which the table appears – this makes it easier for long tables to see column headers as users scroll through a document.
