Google Docs now lets you use emoji reactions

Google Docs is getting support for emoji responses that will allow users to reply to text with a simple symbol instead of a fully written comment.

It said the new emoji response feature provides a less formal alternative to comments to express your opinion about document content.

“The emoji set has been updated to the latest version (Emoji 14.0) to reflect the latest emoji set with options to accurately reflect your identity,” the company said in a blog post.

It also said that it is bringing a gender-neutral option for the gender-changeable emoji.

The company also said that there is no admin control for this feature. This feature will be ‘on’ by default and cannot be disabled by the user.

To access responses in Docs, users can hover over any message or existing anchor and click the “Add Feedback” icon.

Additionally, emoji preferences are shared with Google Chat, so any preferences set in one app will be reflected in another. Both the apps can be used to update the emoji preferences through the picker.
