Google Docs will now let you copy and edit multiple blocks of text: How it works

Google Docs is part of the workspace ecosystem for Google and is used by millions of people for a variety of purposes. This week, Google Docs is getting a new feature that lets you choose not one but two different blocks of text, which could be useful for users in a number of ways.

“In Google Docs, you can now make multiple text selections at once, and apply actions like delete, copy, paste, or format to all selections,” Google explains in it. blog post, It added that this feature will be rolled out to all end users by default, and they do not need to enable it to work on the platform while editing copies.

Google Workspace brings new editing options to customers, legacy G Suite Basic and Business Customer. The rollout is happening in a phased manner from May 25 and will be visible to all for 15 days.

Multi-select text is a useful feature. Google is using the classic Select and Control/Command tools to do this.

So, the next time you want to format text placed in different paragraphs, just select the first text/sentence, if you are on Windows/MacOS system, then press Control/Command buttons respectively and make necessary changes. You’ve been able to choose to use the controls and copy images for years, and now it’s good to have the same tool handy for text.

Having said that, Google says that you can do more than two select blocks of text with this feature. You can change the highlight font type, size, and even the color of headings, as well as sub-headings in one go, using an option in the toolbar called “Update Style to Match.”

Google continues to add more features to Docs and we haven’t seen the last additions to the platform from the company.
