Google is planning its first ‘foldable’ smartphone. read the description

Google Is planning to launch its first foldable smartphone next year. The tech giant, which makes Pixel smartphones, is working on a foldable smartphone under the Pixel stable. Compared to the recently launched Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, a change in the optics department can be seen in the foldable phone. According to 9to5Google, the smartphone’s Google Camera APK files say that the foldable Pixel phone will be codenamed ‘Pipit’ and is said to use the same camera sensor as last year’s Pixel 5.

Other notable features include stock Android out-of-the-box. Pixel smartphones are known for better shooting capabilities and we haven’t seen Google changing the camera resolutions of these phones for a long time. It has kept the standard 12MP Sony IMX lens in Pixel 3, 3a, 4a, etc.

The ‘foldable’ smartphone will be a great addition to Google as it is using the same monotonous design found in Pixel phones.

The website says that instead of Samsung’s GN1 sensor, the Sony IMX363 sensor that was seen since the Pixel 3 will be used.

“The Pipit foldable smartphone will have a 12-megapixel IMX386 sensor which, if we can trust the design of the Pixel 6, should be used for the ultrawide camera. One thing to note is that within the code, this specific camera is tagged with “folded”, which suggests that it will only be used when the phone is powered off,” the 9to5Google report says.

The leak further says that it will be equipped with two 8-megapixel IMX355 sensors, one tagged as “internal” and the other as “external”. Previous Pixel phones – including the Pixel 6, but not the Pixel 6 Pro – generally used the IMX355 as the front-facing selfie camera. From this, we believe that the inclusion of two identical cameras will help ensure that your foldable Pixel will capture similar quality selfies when folded or unfolded, with one selfie shooter on the external display and the other on the internal display, too. Something like the setup of the Galaxy Fold.
